Shelties was established in January, 2006 and is located in the quaint town
of Medina, OH which is 25 miles southwest of Cleveland. We first became involved
in the dog world when our daughter decided, after showing horses for years,
that she'd like to try Juniors. It didn't take long for our interest to evolve
from the Juniors ring to the Breed ring.
 While
I have owned this breed and loved it since I was a young girl, I had never
experienced the excitement of showing. It was especially thrilling last year
to finish our first champion. Due to the fact that our children enjoy living
in a residential area, it is necessary for us to keep our numbers down. As
a result, we have strived to purchase foundation girls that will produce
the high quality, temperamentally sound dogs that will define our small hobby
kennel.
We are
members of the Cleveland Shetland Sheepdog Club (CSSC) as well as the Three
Rivers Shetland Sheepdog Club of Greater Pittsburgh (TRSSCGP).
Our goal
is to improve the breed and to produce puppies that conform as closely as
possible to our standard. All of our dogs are house dogs so a very high priority
is placed on sound and loving temperaments. We will typically only breed
one very well thought out litter per year.
